The Receipt Book

Simply the best! I normally keep my book receipts in an envelope. 1 year 1 envelope. With this book, other receipts and tax claimable purchases can be easily tracked. :)

Cheeky name, eh?

This is what it looks like on the inside. One envelope per page. This book has 10 pages and I'm sharing it with my husband so 5 pages for me and the other half for him. :)

Filled up!

Bought this book from Typo.
To check out this shop online, go to http://shop.cottonon.com/typo

I fell head over heels for this shop when my husband and I were in Australia for our honeymoon. ;)

p/s: Malaysians who are interested to buy book receipts, feel free to buzz me! Hahaha

Roald Dahl Bookathon : The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me by Roald Dahl

Title
The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me
Author
Roald Dahl
Publisher
Puffin Books
Rating
5/5

4 friends. 1 creative idea. 1 amazing business.
Window Cleaning Company ran by a boy named Billy and his 3 friends; The Giraffe, The Pelly and The Monkey. Billy's dream is to have a candy shop.

Imagine this.
Windows cleaning crew with no pail and no ladder.
I would say, cost effective! $.$

No need for a ladder. Thanks to The Giraffe.
No need for a pail. Thanks to The Pelly.
The Monkey? He cleans the windows of course!
How can these talk to humans? Here comes Billy the manager. =)

With great friendship and hardwork, luck came into place. The team managed to capture the criminal at the  Duke of Hampshire's house where they were hired to clean the windows. The reward is of course very fruitful!

I will leave it to you to have these friends running in your head cleaning up windows and you'll never know if they will pop into a candy store near you! LOL!

What are your literary “pet peeves”?

My answer:
1. Slowwww moving storyline.
2. Sad ending!
3. Blurry ending! Some say it is the author's intention to leave it to reader's imagination but I want to know more!I need a definite ending! :p
4. Author not up to their normal standard. For example, Author A writes magical stories but in her newly published book, there is soooo little magic injected in it. This saddens me. I need the "ummmppphhh". ;)
5. Super long sentences.
6. Repeating points! This is definitely true for some non-fiction books...

Guess I better end this post here. LOL!

What book took you the longest to read, and do you feel it was the content or just the length that made it so?
My answer:
Hmmm I would say one of the technical and classics book. Most of the time, it is the content that makes it a lonnnnnnnnnnnggggg read! Read. Understand. Absorb. =)

50 Books in a Year 2012 Challenge

This post has been procrastinated for too long(again....). I've participated in the 50 Books in a Year 2011 Challenge last year but was short of 16 to 50! To justifiy a little, I picked up cross-stitch :)For thos who are also interested, do drop by my Craft Blog at http://ruzcraft.blogspot.com. Hope I make it to 50 this year!!!

If 50 Books in A Year 2012 Challenge is foreign to you, click here to find out more about it. The organizer has been organizing this since 2009! In my opinion, it is simply awesome as I believe it is achievable by everyone!

To following are the rules of the challenge adapted from the challenge announcement.

1. The goal of this challenge is to read 50
books within 365 days. Very reasonable, no?

2. Anyone can join in. Host has screwed up
Mister Linky this year, so participants will be added manually. Please leave your
name (or your blog name; however you wish for it to appear) and your URL.
If
you prefer, you can just RSVP on GoodReads anytime.

3. Everything counts: any genre, eBooks,
AudioBooks, re-reads, textbooks, books read for other challenges.... As long as
it exists and you read it, it works! (Essays, single short stories, etc. do not
count, obviously.)

4. Challenge begins on January 1st, 2012 and
ends on December 31st.
Books read before or after do not count.

5. You do not have to make a list of books and
stick to it. Go ahead and make a list if you like, of course, but you don't have
to stick to it.

6. Please link back to this post in your challenge posts
or anywhere on your blog.
