Roald Dahl Bookathon : James and The Giant Peach by Roald Dahl

Title
James and The Giant Peach
Author
Roald Dahl
Publisher
Puffin Books
Rating
5/5

Forced to live with his wicked aunts, James Henry Trotter was made a slave. He had to work all day long and wasn't allowed to play with any other kids. One miraculous day, he bumped into a an old man who gave him some magic beans. Unfortunately he tripped and the beans fell onto the ground and went deep into the soil of the ground.

It all started when a peach grew gigantic. His aunts were very excited about it and money was also collected. Day by day, the peach grew bigger and heavier. So heavy that the tree can't hold it anymore. A little snap on the branch, the giant fruit was released from the tree. That marks the beginning of the adventures in the book.
What everyone didn't know was there were a lot of creatures living in the giant peach. Gigantic creatures. All seven of them. My favourite is the glow worm. Though I'm scared of insects, I often wonder what a giant glow worm looks like and how it lights up in my room. Lady Bug was nice but centipede can get pretty persuasive. Centipede is also pretty much obsessed with this shoes.

It is great how Dahl puts life in all the insects and how a boy could be friends. Just like us, there were quite a drama in the peach. Simply adorable. I LOVE THIS BOOK!

p/s: This book was also made into a movie. Yet to watch it or even have a copy! The following is the trailer.
